Special Election Information

The following process will be followed for the selection of a 51st Nominee to be selected for the Special Election scheduled for November 2, 2021.

  • Governor issues Writ of Election to be held Nov 2, 2021 - Issued August 30, 2021

  • RPK Chair notifies County Chairpersons of 51st District (Adair & Taylor) with a joint meeting notice to be conducted between Adair & Taylor County Party Officers and Precinct Officers for said purpose of nominations and elections of proposed nominees that have contacted party leadership of their interest for nomination. - Issued August, 30, 2021 and shall be conducted:

Only County Committees (local party officers and precinct officers) can nominate and vote the day of said meeting.

Votes are weighted based on number of registered republican voters divided by number of county committee members present the day of voting.

The number of members of that County's County Committee who are present at such meeting

Republican Party of Kentucky (RPK) will facilitate the joint meeting and election process with the District Chair, Greg Delancey presiding the meeting as appointed by the State RPK Chairman.
